Info
For a year now, Adam Tinkle
and Kevin Broydick have been playing
together. They each have a pretty
good background in music. Adam has
been playing saxophone for quite some
time and is self proclaimed as
"damn good at it" and he has been playing
guitar for 3 years. Kevin started
out on drums but moved to guitar
because "it's a chick magnet."
At this point in their career
chicks are furthest from their mind
(not that men have replaced them
they're just concentrating on the music)(and Helena!).
"We really just want to get our
music out there and then people
can decide whether they like it
or not, we just like to play."
"One of the things that's really
cool about all of this is that
we both write our own music and
we both write different styles,
so when we take the best of both
we can create a pretty cool sound."
Says Kevin.
The boys' first gig was new years
eve 2001 at Bluntfest, a competetive
music festival for young musicians
put on by WMPG in Portlands old port.
The night ended in tradgedy however
when Kevin was shot and killed in
mid-performance.
Nah' just kidding. They won first
place and got a little exposure
so hopefully things will continue
to look up.
When things didn't continue to look up
The boys pulled a Bobby Dylan and
Elected to start a band with evil
electric guitars and all sorts of
crazy effects the likes of which haven't
been heard since the last Second Chance show.
Now, Kevin and Adam play guitar in
The Slurpees alongside Nick Place on drums
and Sam Piesner on Bass.
Hopefully there will be more
info over time as things develop.
As for right now, we'll leave you guessing.
